Getting to and from the French Grand Prix Circuit
Unfortunately, the drivers and spectators are right when they say that the Magny-Cours track is in the middle of nowhere. The circuit is located in the central Nievre region, half way between the cities of Paris and Lyon.
The region does not have its own airport (there is the Nevers-Fourchambalt airport, but for charter flights only) and the nearest international airports are the two in Paris: Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly. These two airports have the best international flight connections, but for those coming from within Europe will also be able to use the Satolas Airport in Lyon. For those with no budget constraints, there is a helicopter shuttle service from Paris
The only other option is to drive. From Paris, take the A10 motorway, exiting at Bourge to get onto the N76 in the direction of Pierre Le Moultier. On average, this drive will take three hours. From Lyon, take the A6 towards Paris, exiting at Macon Sud for the N79 highway and subsequently onto the D979 road. The circuit is signposted from there.
The train is another possibility, from Paris to Nevers, which takes about one hour and 45 minutes. However, there is no public transport from the train station to the circuit, with a taxi being the only option.
The track sometimes organises a bus to the circuit during daylight hours, but check with the circuit first if the buses are running. The track is about 15km (9mi) from the train station.
